    Hi guys

  • Kazire

Those matches are great to watch, but personnaly, i switch the sound off and put some music, because having multiple comments on every move is insane. I know you all do that, but that's not smart. That's just the ego that wants to be smarter than the player and if he does the move you thought, then your ego is happy because you were right. We don't care what YOU think should be the next move. Come on, what's your point ? Are you thinking "oh he should hit the ball on the left, and then move to the right, and no go to the net, and slice it on the backhand" ? NO WAY. You just WATCH and ENJOY the BEST PLAYERS doing what they know BETTER THAN YOU. And doing that on every d.... move is just a lack of worship. Chess players are smart for playing chess, but sorry they are not smart in life... And don't tell me it is for teaching purposes, it's too fast and you will never have those situations yourself or you won't remember them for sure. Unless you are a GM already so maybe you don't even need those comments...

you should ask ding and shak to see if they want to commentate on the world chess championship coming up. Think it would be fantastic to hear their ideas.

Interesting how AlphaZero created new chess fads as well! I just started chess like a few days ago, but I've been a long time go player and AlphaGo (the predecessor to alphazero) really completely changed the way the game of go is played and now there are all these new AI josekis (like chess openings) that previously people thought were bad but now everyone uses all the time

Are there any games besides chess which allow a score of 0.5? Chess could make a tie worth 1.0 and a victory worth 2.0. Sort of like how basketball allows two points for a standard score and one point for a penalty score.

@YSFmemories That's an informative and excellent answer. Unlike the other guy's who refuses to answer my questions because he doesn't like (or perhaps doesn't understand) the motive behind the question.

Go, another board game, has a komi system where every single game ends in a x.5 to make sure that there are no draws (although there are very, very special rare occasions where there's a no result because of a special situation called a triple ko, but those come up once every 100,000 games)

@thecyclingsamurai Bad question? Pointless? Wow, I'd hate to know you in real life. And yes, I was correct when I said that the point of your post was to argue "why bother?" I didn't feel like repeating myself when you reiterated your question. Repetition is not helpful.

@thecyclingsamurai I asked why something happens/exists. You are telling me not to ask questions. You would never be a good scientist when you won't ask questions. In fact, you won't tolerate it when others ask questions. Why are you intolerant of inquisitiveness?

The feigned or overblown shock and emotion from the commentators at certain moments is annoying. Also they seem to feel like they need to narrate every second which really is too much. If you don't have an actual idea to communicate, it's ok not to say anything. It's not "dead air." Just let us enjoy the games!
